Common questions
RV & Toys Insurance FAQ
- Does my auto policy cover my travel trailer?
- Partly. Your auto liability usually extends to an owned trailer while it's being towed, meaning if the trailer causes damage to someone else's vehicle or property behind your truck, that's covered. But the trailer itself isn't covered for damage, and neither are its contents. That's what a dedicated RV or trailer policy is for: physical damage to the trailer, protection for the gear inside, and coverage while it's parked at home or at the campground.
- Am I covered if a friend borrows my ATV or UTV?
- Usually yes. Most off-road policies cover "permissive users," meaning friends or family riding with your OK. But there are limits. Some carriers reduce coverage for occasional riders, and if you have a regular co-rider or passenger like your kids, spouse, roommate, or riding buddy, it's often better to list them as a covered operator. Tell us who rides with you, and we'll make sure everyone's actually protected the way you think they are.
- Can I insure a boat kept on Lake Pleasant or Havasu?
- Yes. Watercraft policies cover physical damage to the boat, liability on the water, and often include on-water towing (the marine version of AAA). Storage location and horsepower are two of the biggest factors in the rate, so tell your agent both when you call.
- Do you offer full-timer RV coverage?
- Yes. Full-timer's coverage works like a homeowners policy on wheels. It includes broader liability, higher personal property limits, and things like loss assessment coverage that make sense when your RV is your primary residence. Standard RV policies typically exclude full-time living, so if you've moved into your rig, you need a different policy than a weekend camper.
- Do you write policies outside Arizona?
- We're a licensed independent agency based in Gilbert, Arizona, and we focus on Arizona residents. If you're moving to or from Arizona, contact us. We can point you to a trusted partner.
